Greetings! My name is April Camille Franklin and I am a native of Georgetown, SC where I graduated from Carver’s Bay High School in 2007. For undergraduate studies, I attended Clemson University (Go Tigers!) where I earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biological Sciences. While at Clemson, I was a member of various service organizations and was afforded opportunities to help surrounding communities. I completed my optometry coursework at Salus University at Pennsylvania College of Optometry in Elkins Park, PA. For the past 12 years, I have worked as a Certified Paraoptometric Technician and have served as Vice President of South Carolina Optometric Physicians Association Paraoptometric Group (SCOPA). Professionally, I am a member of the American Optometric Association in addition to SCOPA. I am also a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Mu Phi Omega Chapter and serve in verious roles and committees. In my spare time, I play kickball in a community league, where I am a second baseman. My hobbies include spending time with my family and friends, reading, traveling, scrapbooking, and playing sports. I love movies, nail art, trivia, and coin collecting, both foreign and domestic.
