Dr. Sandra Hussey

Dr. Sandra Hussey comes to Careteam Plus Pediatrics with years of experience in the care of children in South Carolina. She is a compassionate and empathetic Pediatrician who cares deeply for her patients and gives excellent care.

Her journey as a physician started early in Bacolod City, Philippines as one of three doctors in her family. She was influenced by her mother who worked as a Health Officer of the city. As a young child, she would accompany her mother and the Health Department team travel to the rural countryside and give life saving vaccines, medicines and aid to these poor and indigent communities. Dr. Hussey also volunteered and worked with socio-civic organizations like the Rotary International and Lions Clubs on their community service to both urban and rural areas. She has also worked in clinics in the underserved areas in South Carolina.

As a senior in high school, she experienced American family and school life when she was a Rotary International Scholar in Pennsylvania. She went back to the Philippines to pursue an undergraduate degree in Biology from the University of the Philippines. She earned her medical degree from the Cebu Institute of Medicine in Cebu, Philippines. She interned at the Riverside Medical Center and it is at this point in her career that she wanted to be a Pediatrician. She enjoys interacting with children and their families that it was an easy decision. For her Pediatric Residency training, she went to Greenville, NC to the ECU-Brody School of Medicine/Pitt County Memorial Hospital Program.

Dr. Sandy Hussey is a great listener and believes teamwork of the staff, provider and caregivers brings the best care for the patient. She follows the golden rule of treating others as you want to be treated.

In her spare time, Dr. Hussey loves to spend time with her family and her two labradoodles, trying new restaurants, travel, watch sports, concerts, cook, and boating in Lake Marion.
